With the coronavirus pandemic hitting businesses globally, home textiles major Welspun India Ltd is looking at how can it re-purpose its businesses to align with the changed ecosystem, with e-commerce emerging as one of its priority areas to reach end consumers, according to a top company official.
Welspun India Limited, the global leaders of home textiles, aims to employ 500-600 migrant workers that were displaced due to the pandemic. With an objective to generate employment opportunities and continued livelihood for them, the company has collaborated with Pravasi Rojgar Yojana – an initiative by Bollywood actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood to provide jobs to migrant workers.
Welspun India added another feather to its illustrious cap by being named amongst the most 'Influential Innovators' at the Clarivate South and South East Asia Innovation Award 2020. Welspun won the award in the Corporation segment and was the only player from the textile industry.
